"I teach painting classes
at Sylvia Hazlerig's 'Music
House' in Crestone. Sylvia
was growing beautiful
daffodils in the room where
I teach. I paint with my art class. I started this
painting with the intention
of paintng an iris, but the magnificance of the daffodils took over and the painting ended up with this image."

(The painting is three-dimensional, that is why the photograph shows "raised"
sections on the canvas.)
